Pooran Puri Recipe | How to Make Puran Poli

Ingredients for Puri
White flour 1 cup
Semolina 1 cup
Milk 1 cup
Ghee/Oil 1 cup
Filling
Almonds 20 finly chopped
Pistachio 20 finly chopped
Coconut powder 1 cup
Raisins 1/2 cup,washed in hot water and dried
Sugar 1 cup
Oil as required
Method
Soak semolina in milk in a large bowl. When semolina is thoroughly soaked,sift the white flour and add to semolina along with ghee. Knead into a hard dough and set aside for few minutes. Heat ghee in a small pan and fry the chopped almonds and pistachios. Remove from pan and cool for a half hour. Combine almonds and pistachios wite the coconut powder, sugar and raisins. Roll out the dough in small roun puri shapes about three inches in diameter, fill with a tablespoon of mixied puri shapes about three inches in diametter,fill with a tablespoon of mixed nuts and turn half over to form a D shape.Press down the edges to close firmly.Use all the doughand cover the filledpuris with a damp cloth.Heat oil in a karahi,turn down heat to medium when oil is hot.Fry till golden brown,drain on kitchen paper.
