Khichdi Recipe | Moong Dal Khichdi Recipe

Rice basmati 2 cups,wash and soak for 15-20 minutes
Moong lentil 1 cup,wash and soak for 15 minutes
Onions 2 medium finly sliced
Salt to taste
Oil 1/2 cup
Heat oil and fry onion till golden brown. Drain rice and lentil and add to onions,Fry stirring constantly for about 20 minutes till grains separate and change colour to brown.Pour in three cuyps or more water with salt,stir and covered till water is almost dry.Lower heat and put the pan on a tawa till rice is tender.Serve with yogurt and green chutney.
To prevent eyes from watering when choppiung onion put a piece of potato on the tip of the knife.
